Have you ever driven to Burns, OR...

If you haven´t...you´re missing nothing. Notice in the Google Map..there is dirt, dirt and more dirt...oh I think there´s a hill and some sagebrush! However when I drove in a bus through Northern Chile for 18 hours it seemed to blow me away even though it was bare! Maybe it was because I didn´t have to play Classic Rock Name That Tune with Dad or hear Mom bursting into showtunes about sagebrush or Oklahoma! Actually I loved that about road trips, but one thing will forever be true: James Taylor is the best road trip music...and "Lost" in Spanish is WAY more intense (because of the voice-overs) and fun to watch on a bus (okay that makes two things!)

I will try to keep my observations minimal, but so much happened since my last post...so be sure to check it all (cause I back dated them). The trip made me HATE my flight on American Airlines even more. Only because our bus attendant (I guess that´s what you call them), I called him Miguel, was the nicest guy of all time. He covered me with a blanket and put a pillow behind my head. The food was still not great, but I´m pretty sure Miguel is a saint in Chile. We were pretty sick of being on the bus, and Antofagasta was pretty great. I will find a good picture of the city and send it to you, but if you can find a big race track in Northern Antofagasta then my house is very close to that...but I think the stories of mi familia are best saved for a separate post! Here´s a taste of how much we loved our bus trip...This is of Doss and Katie and I´ll make sure to add the rest in future pictures.

I found An...(however you spell that) on/in (?) Wikipedia, so I've got some good pics of the city...now I'll try to find the speedway...race track...whatever.
Have FUN!!! I know you will!

Your comments about "Miguel" were precious...made me tear up..."Angels watchin' over me, every step I take..." (did you "hear" it?!?!?!)

Hey, do you know your address in Anti-green-gasto?
I found a track, but it looks more like a football field than a race track, and it's only 3 blocks from the ocean. If you're only 3 blocks from the ocean, then I'm really not sorry about Letterman!

Dude! Glad you made in one piece! And don't be dissin' Name That Tune. You know it made you the music geek you are today!

I'll be anxious to read and see lots more about what you're up to! Have fun!

My house is near that track...its the only large track I've found and they don't play football or run track like high schools in the states. So I should be a few blocks east from there...and yes about 15 minute walk from a beach. Not the best...but you're jealous...so it works!

yeah...Garth Brooks! I'll have to bust that out for the trip back!
