Who´s teaching who...whom....yeah...I don´t know English either!

Meet my class. I´m pretty sure I am going to die of exhaustion every day, but I hope that preps me for the real thing in a few months. This throw it together planning stuff is pretty hard when your mother is trying to mainland Chilean cuisine in your stomach. If you haven´t seen Doss´ blog about how great our mother is from yesterday...please read it. Oh and while you´re there, make sure you listen to what wonderful music we get to listen to in our afternoon work time. (Opera + Death Metal) While you´re enjoying the hilarious idiosyncracies of my life here in Antofagasta, I hope you actually get that these students (even Juan...the big kid in the middle who never shuts up and says 3 words in English...one of which is not appropriate) are great! I am having so much fun with them, and I guess I missed the real fine points of the First Days (but just talk to Harry Wong) and as all teachers know, the first few days are just a bunch of lame preassesments...boy I hope no one hear that) Anyways, we are doing a lot of singing and dancing and pointing and running and...oh yeah...I think they know some more english too. But more interesting things happened too...

We played Dodgeball today...that´s right Dodgeball. If there´s any way to start an international incident, it is to teach kids to hurt each other in more than one language! So, I took one for the team, and corralled the little hellians. I have never been less jealous of an elementary PE teacher in my life, and I going to kiss every elementary and middle school teacher I know when i return (that´s right...I´m kissing them all!)
So, I experienced chaos and was smack in the middle of it yelling at kids to sit down when they were hit or someone caught the throw or
stepped on the line. Oh yeah, and there were 75 of them! I had a little help, but when you´re in the middle dodging balls it feels like you´re alone in a pre-adolescent hell (alright something a little more enjoyable) I actually loved the controlled chaos and I know the kids had fun too. I most definietly lost my voice, but it was worth it. I will try and share some of those pictures with you too, but for now I have to return home for more food (I´m assuming...and probably more family or guests!). I think this is a good picture of how I feel:

It sounds like you are having fun. You should be missing the math class I am in right now. Three hours of Donna : ) I am sure dodge ball is better than that! I miss you. Have fun.

Mr. Milliron!
I don't think any CVHS kids will phase you after that, right? Keija is a middle school teacher...WOOOO. But so is Arnie. Well, I think those two at least wouldn't mind a kiss from you. 'Cause you are bringing sexy back.
Love Ms. Halverson

PS-DID YOU SEE THE MOOSE ON MY PAGE?

I said it and meant it...every middle school teacher I know! Arnie better be ready, and Keija is more excited than she can stand (sorry Kellie, no hooking up for Jake and Keija). I loved the moose picture by the way and look forward to hearing about how cold it still is for everyone in Spokane...¡lo siento!

Okay so I may be a little late in my response, but how presumptuous of you, "Mr. Jake", to think that I would want a kiss from you!! Don't tell me Chile is making your ego even bigger?! :)
